When you love the business that you have chosen it’s not work! After retiring early from our careers in the United States my husband and I decided to return to my home, Nicaragua, and focus on developing a business that follows our passion for exploring and touring in this amazing country. ¡Viva Nicaragua! Tour Company was born with a goal of providing a higher level of customer service and tour experience. My husband and I have traveled extensively over the course of our lives and we incorporate that knowledge in our tour operations. We provide a variety of experiences for our customers that allows them to truly explore the people, culture and beauty of this wonderful place. Gavin Hinze

Mr. Hinze is a talented business executive with a wealth of international finance and marketing experience. Prior to founding Viva Nicaragua Tour Company, Mr. Hinze was Senior Director with the world’s largest commercial real estate investment and service firm, CBRE Global Investors. During his 14 years with the firm Mr. Hinze was responsible for overseeing a complex Sharia compliant office and industrial real estate fund, served as investment advisor to the State of Illinois, and oversaw the acquisition, development, and disposition of over $2 Billion worth of commercial real estate for various firm clients. Mr. Hinze is currently involved in all facets of Viva Nicaragua Tour Company’s business operations with a focus and strategic initiatives, corporate culture, and overall performance. Mr. Hinze earned a B.A. in Political Science at the University of California at San Diego (UCSD), an M.B.A. in Finance at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles (LMU), and studied Accounting at the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). Mr. Hinze earned his accreditation as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

Brenda Navarro-Hinze

Brenda Navarro-Hinze is a seasoned business executive having served in various leadership roles over her 20-year career in the financial industry. As an underwriter with American Tower Corporation she evaluated and closed millions of dollars in telecommunications transactions; she later served as Vice President of Closings with Landmark Dividend, underwriting and closing hundreds of commercial real estate deals. Prior to her career in finance Mrs. Navarro-Hinze worked in corporate sales with the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn, a world class 5 Star hotel located in California’s wine country. Mrs. Navarro-Hinze currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer of Viva Nicaragua Tour Company. Mrs. Navarro-Hinze attended the American Nicaraguan School from 1980-1982, earned her B.A. in Political Science/Public Service at the University of California at Davis, and earned her J.D. degree with a specialization in Business from Golden Gate University School of Law in San Francisco.

Rodolfo Ortega “Rudy”

Director of Sales and Marketing
Mr. Ortega was born and raised in the Colonial City of Granada until he had the opportunity to move to the United States at an early age where he finished middle school and high school. Upon returning to Nicaragua, Mr. Ortega started working as a travel planner for one of the leading tour operators in the country and gained a wealth of experience. He obtained his national tour guide license and brings twelve years of experience in the tour industry, including being a tour leader throughout Central America. Mr. Ortega is an advocate in practicing responsible tourism and belongs to ASOGTUNIC (Association of Nicaraguan Tour Guides) that are working towards a more responsible and professional approach to conducting tours in a sustainable manner. Mr. Ortega continues to reside in Granada, is married, has two children, and enjoys cooking Nicaraguan dishes at home for his family.
